The University of New Caledonia used VisualCom to deploy its digital signage. The chalenge, for the communication service of the UNC, was to be able to broadcast TV content from any computer station connected to the UNC network and to students when they go to the library, the restaurant and the amphitheatres.
To solve this challenge, the choice was a classic digital signage system with a dedicated CMS and a streaming solution based on IP TV standards. Thus 2 channels are accessible via an Android app directly installed on some Philips monitors, allowing in some broadcast points to become free of digital display players.
Among the network of monitors we have installed a very large video wall (3.64 m wide and 2.04 m high) in the hall of the SIGMA building. The choice of brightness is a determining factor for the success of this project. The monitors face large windows that let in the daylight. The Philips screen model chosen has the particularity of offering a brightness of 700 NITS and edges (bezel) lower than 1.3 mm guaranteeing total immersion in the built image.
